You've determined that:

  • The machine doesn't come out of reset
  • The Machine Control Board doesn't have power
  • There is no power in the machine

Follow the Troubleshooting Steps to determine the cause of the reset mode failure.

Before You Begin

If you haven't yet done so:

  1. Open the electrical cabinet door.

WARNING! Electrocution Hazard: When servicing the machine from inside the electrical cabinet, always use caution. Points in the electrical cabinet have high voltages that can electrocute or shock you. Even after you've powered off the machine, electronic devices in the electrical cabinet may retain dangerous electrical voltages. Only qualified electrical machinery technicians should perform maintenance or troubleshooting procedures inside the electrical cabinet while power is still on.

  2. Locate the Machine Control Board and axes drives.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Press and hold the start button on the operator panel through the rest of the following steps.
  2. Listen for a click from contactor C1 inside the electrical cabinet: A click indicates the contactor has power.
  3. Examine the power LEDs on the axes drives. A green light indicates the axes drives have power.

  4. Identify the power LED on the Machine Control Board. A red light indicates the Machine Control Board has power.

  5. Release the start button.

Do both the axes drives and the Machine Control Board have power with the start button held down?
